Gynecological & obstetrical
emergencies
Gynecological and obstetrical emergencies are ensured all year round, 24 hours a day :
- A gynecologist is present at your delivery and available at any moment if needed.
- Ther is an anaesthesist on duty 24 hours a day. Epidural anaesthesia is carried out on demand.
- There is a pediatrician on duty 24 hours a day.
Birth and care of your child
The first medical examination of your baby will be carried out by the pediatrician on duty or the pediatrician of your choice, the same as for his supervision during your stay.
If need be, the Clinique Générale disposes of a specific new born supervision and care unit. This unit is under the responsibility of the pediatricians. Care is ensured either by a nurse or a midwife.
The team will listen to all your wishes concerning your delivery. As far as possible we respect your wishes for welcoming your baby, favouring for him a reassuring and comforting contact (skin on skin).
In our single rooms, a second bed is provided for the father so he can also be available for his child during the night at the maternity (the baby stays in the room).

Your stay at the maternity...
The medical follow-up is ensured by your gynecologist and the maternity team.
As they regularly visit your room, at your disposal for any advice you'd need, you will meet:
- The nursery staff, namely pediatric nurses and child care auxiliaries
A psychologist is attached to the maternity and is at your disposal if you felt the need.
All the professionals intervening for you:
- Are at your disposal for the discovery and the care of your baby.
- Encourage breast feeding whilst respecting your personal choices.
- Give you personal accompaniement in the recognition of the rythmes and needs of your child.
- Advise you to keep your child with you 24 hours a day.
All along the day, service agents are at your disposal. In the mornings they are in charge of room cleaning and take care of the ordering service.
The orderlies propose a daily menu which you can modify if you wish. If necessary a dietitian is at your disposal every morning.
