Hospitalisation

Patient record

For every hospitalization it is essential that the patient provides all the documents necessary for the treatment. In particular, in orthopedic surgery, his imaging examinations (radiographies, scanner, IRM …).

Hospitalisation services

According to the type of patient and surgical operation hospitalisation is in one of the following units of the Clinique Générale in Annecy :

  • Ambulatory surgery unit
  • Hospitalisation unit
  • Regular care unit

Surgeon's visits

The surgeon, or one of the 6 orthopedic surgeons, visits his hospitalized patients on a daily basis (including week-ends and bank holidays).

Kinesitherapy

During the hospitalization kinesitherapy sessions are given in the morning and afternoon by state-recognized kinesitherapists.

Release from the Clinic

The release is programed and organised by the secretary's office at the preoperative consultation. All of the release documents are given to the patient in his room by the nurse before his departure. The posthospitalization care takes place at home or at the reeducation and recovery centre.

Ward and stand-by duties

For the hospitalized patients and the postoperative monitoring, ward and stand-by duties are carried out alternatively by the team of 6 orthopedic surgeons 24 hours a day and 365 days a year.

Operating theater & technical platform

The Clinique Générale's operating theater is made of 11 operating rooms, 5 of which are dedicated to orthopedic surgery.

They are equiped with air treatment devices with filtration and overpressurization of the rooms allowing for environmental control for optimal conditions of asepsis.

Along the same lines of respect of asepsis and hygiene rules, we favour disposable equipment. As for reusable equipment, it is decontaminated, desinfected and sterilized according to the standards of the clinic's sterilization unit.

For each operation the surgical team is made up of the surgeon, a scrub-nurse specialized in orthopedic surgery, a qualified assistant and a circulating nurse.

The anaesthesia team is made up of anaesthetists and anaesthetics nurses.

All of the human and material means implemented enable us to ensure the patient's safety and also the personalized care (reception, attention, comfort, pain relief).

The operating rooms are equipped with the DIGITAL Operating Room system. DIGITAL OR is a new concept of operating theatre suite: each room is equipped with advanced technology visualization composed by 4 dedicated screens, a motorized cameras system, a camera system for the arthroscopy and a computer system for images digitalization.
