Digestive-Visceral Surgery & Mastology
The team of surgeons
By tradition, the digestive and visceral surgery unit of the Clinique Générale d’Annecy is operated by a team of two practitioners, former teaching hospital assistant lecturers, holders of specialisation diplomas in digestive surgery.
They are both specialised in:
- digestive surgery,
- digestive cancerology (ONCORA Network, CONCORDE, ARC ALPIN),
- endocrinal surgery (thyroid, parathyroid).
Doctor DESROCHES also practices bariatric surgery in obesity cases:
Doctor COCCHI also practices mastologic surgery.
With determination those two practitioners have equiped the unit with sophisticated devices allowing them to practice endoscopic surgery, called laparoscopy. This new technique consists in introducing a camera and instruments inside the abdomen through small incisions to carry out the operation. A good number of interventions are carried out using this option first : hiatus hernia (gastro-oesophageal reflux), colectomy (removal of the colon), obesity surgery, cholecystectomy (removal of the gallbladder).
Today the digestive surgeon doesn't work on his own anymore. He works in close collaboration with the Hepato Gastro Enterology unit and the digestive radiologist (who intervene on digestive pathologies), the cancerologist, the radiotherapist and the endocrinologist.
Consultations
To be closer to our hospitalized patients, all the digestive surgery and mastology consultations take place at the Clinique Générale itself. You will be welcome by two medical assistants, Myriam and Marie-Christine, and by a paramedical team composed of two state qualified nurses.
The technical platform consists of a waiting room, two consultation offices, an external care room allowing for the care of postoperative dressings and the carrying out of small acts under local anaesthesia.
Reception for digestive emergencies (appendicitis, occlusions, cholécystitis) is open 24h/24h including week ends.
Cancerology
Both surgeons work closely with the Medical Oncology Unit (radiotherapy, chemotherapy). A pluridisciplinar consultation meeting finds place twice a month so as to propose personalized care for each patient. The report and the therapeutic decision are systematically transmitted to the refering general practitioner.
For the best possible care of our patients a pain team, a psychologist and a dietitian are available to each patient on demand.
