Chemotherapy
The ambulatory chemotherapy unit is coordinated by Dr Gilles CATIMEL, medical oncologist.
This unit proposes therapeutics (chemotherapy, targeted therapeutics, immunotherapy, hormonotherapy) for the adult's solid tumors (breast cancer, gynecological, urological, pulmonary, digestive, ENT cancers, cerebral tumors et melanomas).
The unit disposes of an extraction hood for the preparation of cytotoxique drugs as well as hypothermic helmets and gloves so as to limit the loss of hair or the secondary effects of chemotherapy on hands and feet.
The closeness to the chemotherapy and radiotherapy units allows for the patients needing combined radio and chemotherapy treatments to be taken care of in optimal conditions.
Treatment and aftercare of patients
Chemotherapy treatments and the aftercare of our patients are provided by doctors Gilles CATIMEL, Annie LAPALU, Yves MARIA, Bruno PIROLLET, Patrick TAURINES and by the team of nurses, orderlies, hospital service agents and medical secretaries.
The preparation of chemotherapies is nominative and centralised, under the responsibility of the pharmacist.
Reception of patients
Seven armachairs and beds in individual or double cubicles, fitted out with cable televison allows for patients being taken care of in optimal conditions of comfort.
This ambulatory unit is able to welcome patients from 8.30 to 17.30 from Monday to Friday.
The heavier chemotherapies are carried out under full hospitalization.
A psychologist, a dietitian and a social worker are at the patient's disposal.
