Medical Authorities

Different authorities contribute to the  establishment's functioning...

EMC : Establishment Medical Commission (CME in French)

This authority, presided over by a physician, groups all of the practitioners exercising within the establishment  to discuss its functioning and the medical projects. Since 2006, the following authorities have been sub-committees of the EMC.

CUR : Commission for User Relations and quality of care (CRU in French)

This commission has for only object to assist, direct and inform anyone who considers he has sustained a loss or damage  owing to the activity of the establishment. The conciliator and/or the director indicate to this person, among other things, what ways of conciliation and of recourse, gratuitous as well as jurisdictional, are open to him.

This commission, presided over by the director and a conciliator (a physician), meets once a trimester and anlyses all of the complaints received as well as the results of the different release questionnaires.

CFNI : Committee for the Fight against Nosocomial Infections (CLIN in French)

For several years now, the legislative measures and regulations have reminded us of the need for all health establishments to develop quality and care safety improvement procedures, notably with regard to infectious risk.

The CFNI (CLIN in french) of the Clinique Générale is presided over by a doctor and is made of a pluridisciplinary team (a public health nurse, doctors, pharmacists, caregiving and administrative people). An Operational Hygiene Team takes over in the various care units with the help of the Hygiene Correspondants.

This Committee's missions are:

  • Prevention of nosocomial infections, amongst other things by the elaboration and the carrying out of technical recomendatins for good hygiene practices.

  • Surveillance of nosocomial infections.

  • Training and information for the establishment's professionals as to clinical hygiene and the fight against noscomial infections.

  • Evaluation of the actions undertaken against nosocomial infections.

A definition of nosocomial infections

An infection is considered nosocomial when it appears during or following a hospitalization and if it was not present at admission. Nosocomial infections are linked to medical care and, by extension, acquired in medical establishments. It can affect patients or the medical and the establishment's other staff due to their activities.

Patients (or their families or close relations) can ask to see the public health nurse at or during the hospitalization.
